Measurement and Quality Management in Mechnical Engineering
The rules and conditions of admission to study first, second and third degree study programmes conducted at STU are laid down in a special internal regulation of STU. The results achieved at secondary school shall be evaluated by means of a scoring system. The following are included in the scoring system: the study average during the entire secondary school studies, the result of the matriculation examination, the average grade in the profiling subjects - mathematics, physics, the type of secondary school and other activities. The admission procedure may include written entrance examinations in secondary school mathematics and physics; the results of these will also be expressed in points.
Prospects of graduates
The graduate will obtain a complete first-level university education and will have knowledge in the field of measurement, metrology, quality management, management of organizations, financial and integrated management, as well as in the field of production technology, design of information and control systems, information technology and technical diagnostics. The student will be able to apply modern CAx technologies appropriately in technical and management activities. They will be able to apply progressive quality management tools and techniques. He/she will be prepared to work independently as well as in a team to solve the basic tasks of metrology, quality management and design and evaluation of measurements. The graduate will find employment in industrial enterprises in various sectors, including the automotive industry as a metrologist, mechanical engineer or quality manager.

According to the Higher Education Act, the basic condition for admission to a bachelor's degree programme at the University is the acquisition of full secondary education or full secondary vocational education with a secondary school-leaving certificate. In the academic year 2023/2024 the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of STU is opening a full-time form of bachelor studies. The external form of study will not be opened in the academic year 2023/2024.
