The Bachelor's degree in Media Studies and Cultural Heritage prepares graduates for the media, cultural and creative industries sectors. The student may find employment in media, marketing, cultural and heritage institutions.

Basic admission requirement
The basic condition for admission to the Bachelor's degree (first degree study programme) is the acquisition of full secondary education or full secondary vocational education (Act on Higher Education No.131/2002 Coll., as amended). In the case of a foreign applicant or a student who has completed secondary education abroad, this is an education comparable to that completed by the matriculation examination in the Slovak Republic. An applicant who has obtained secondary education abroad shall submit a decision on the recognition of the document on the completion of secondary education by the relevant institution in the Slovak Republic with the application for university studies, or at the latest at the time of enrolment in the studies.
Other conditions of admission
Applicants with a secondary school average of up to 2.0 will be admitted without an entrance examination. If they have not reached this average, they will take a knowledge test in the subjects Slovak language and literature, social studies/civic studies and computer science within the scope of the secondary school curriculum. The implementation of the entrance exam is provided by the Department of Media Studies and Cultural Heritage of the Faculty of Physical Education of UNIZA.
Written and oral proficiency in Slovak or Czech language is required for studying at the faculty.

Conditions for international students
For foreign applicants, the admission conditions apply as for applicants from the Slovak Republic. Foreign students studying in Slovak language do not pay tuition fees. Applicants from the Czech Republic may use the form valid in the Czech Republic to apply for studies. For foreign applicants admitted on the basis of interstate agreements, bilateral treaties or for scholarship holders of the Government of the Slovak Republic, the conditions specified in the relevant documents apply.
An applicant who has obtained his/her secondary education abroad shall submit a decision on the recognition (nostrification) of his/her secondary education by the relevant institution in the Slovak Republic with the application for higher education studies, or at the latest upon enrolment for studies. A foreign applicant shall submit a certificate of the required language level B1, according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages, in the Slovak language. In the event that he does not have such a certificate, he/she shall take a test on the date of the admission examination for meeting the above required level of the Slovak language. The test will be prepared, implemented and evaluated by the Institute of Lifelong Learning of the University of Žilina in Žilina.
Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Applicants with a high school grade point average up to 2.0 will be admitted without an entrance exam.

Method of payment: payment can be made by bank transfer or postal order to the above account. The name of the applicant/payer should be indicated when making the payment.
Proof of payment: Proof of payment should be sent to the faculty address along with the application form.
Applicants should complete the Application for Undergraduate Studies - Level 1 form or use the electronic form. The electronic application form can be filled in via the UNIZA website https://vzdelavanie.uniza.sk/prijimacky/index.php or the university portal https://prihlaskavs.sk/sk/. In the case of electronic application, it is necessary to follow the instructions given in the Electronic Application System.
If the application form is incomplete, the applicant will be asked to complete it.
In case of non-participation or failure in the admission procedure, the faculty will not refund the admission fee.
If a candidate wishes to participate in the admission procedure at several faculties or programmes of the faculty of UNIZA, the application must be submitted separately for each faculty and programme with payment of the appropriate fee.
