The subjects of the study programme are built up so that they cover all the spheres of forest ecosystem management from the viewpoint of society´s demands for production and non-production benefits of forests.

Career prospects

The graduates find a job in forest management practice, in bodies of forest management civil service and in many related fields oriented on solving problems of forest management, ecological and economic use of forests as a basic component of landscape and the environment. Most graduates from bachelor´s degree programmes continue in studying in the study branch of Forestry (Adaptive Forestry) or Applied Zoology and Wildlife Management.

Terms and conditions of admission

The entrance examination for the Bachelor´s study programme of Forestry is made up of a written test of biology that is evaluated on the day of the examination. Results and the score of the written test will be given under applicant´s registration number on the webpage http://is.tuzvo.sk.

Additional information

When submitting the electronical application for study, it is needed to print the completed application form directly from the university information system, to sign it, to have the mark average and register of marks for particular form (year) of the finished secondary school confirmed by the secondary school and to send it to the Dean´s office.

Applicants who took a school-leaving examination sooner before add the attested photocopy of the school-leaving certificate as well as all certificates from the secondary school (training college, further education study) and they shall also include their mark average of particular forms (years), i. e. of their annual certificates.

The application is to be attached by the CV, the doctor´s certificate on health condition and capability to study as well as the copy of proof of payment for the entrance examination and then to be sent to the Dean´s office to the address: Dekanát Lesníckej fakulty TU vo Zvolene, T.G. Masaryka 24, 960 53 Zvolen.

Terms and conditions of admission without entrance examinations

According to capacity possibilities, the following applicants can be admitted without taking entrance examinations:

students of the secondary grammar schools (gymnazium) and secondary forestry schools who achieved the mark average of annual certificates in the 1st– 4thforms up to 2.25 including or the average for the school-leaving examination up to 2.25 including regardless of the type of school-leaving examinations;
students of other secondary schools with the school-leaving examination (including vocational schools with the school-leaving examination) who achieved the mark average at annual certificates in the 1st – 4th forms up to 2.00 including or the average for the school-leaving examination up to 2.00 including regardless of the type of school-leaving examinations;
graduates of secondary grammar schools or other types of secondary schools who achieved the marks 1 and 2 within the school-leaving examinations of biology or mathematics.

In case of exceeding the set capacity of a planned number of students to be admitted, a decisive factor for admission will be the results from a secondary school (annual certificates and school-leaving examination certificate). The applicants who did not achieve the set out marks can be admitted only on the basis of the results of entrance examinations.

In case of an insufficient number of applicants, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at the TU in Zvolen can cancel the entrance examination.

General information on entrance examinations

If a student applies for both study programmes, he has to submit the application form (and take the entrance examination) for each study programme separately. The Faculty will send him the information about the entrance examination (day, time, room) at the latest 1 month before the date of the entrance examination. To each application, it is necessary to stick a copy of the prove of payment for the entrance examination (page 3). The application form with no prove of payment for the entrance examination will not be accepted.
