Jadrová energetika

The doctoral study programme Nuclear Power Engineering provides individual profiling of the graduate in relation to the scientific methods of research and development of areas related to nuclear, nuclear power and nuclear-physical facilities and related technology. In particular, it deals with the issues of enhancing nuclear safety in relation to radiation resistance and other properties of structural and nuclear materials, research, development and design of advanced types of nuclear and fusion reactors, nuclear fuels and fuel cycles, the use of transmutation technologies, decommissioning of nuclear facilities, management of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste, detection, dosimetry and radiation protection issues, as well as environmental and economic aspects of nuclear energy.

Prospects of graduates

Graduates of the PhD studies in the Nuclear Power Engineering programme have the potential to lead scientific and research teams in the field of nuclear power engineering. Graduates can apply themselves in solving problems in research, development, design and construction of objects related to nuclear energy. They will be employed as project managers, development, research or scientific staff, designers, constructors, but above all as specialists in the field of nuclear physics, nuclear energy, nuclear facilities, nuclear safety, properties and structure of nuclear materials, research and development of advanced types of nuclear and fusion reactors, nuclear fuels and fuel cycles, transmutation technologies, decommissioning of nuclear facilities, detection, dosimetry and radiation protection, as well as environmental and economic aspects of nuclear energy.
