Nuclear and sub-nuclear physics
After graduating from the study programme of Nuclear and sub-nuclear physics, the graduates have no problems finding employment in the field or using the acquired education in a wide spectrum of related fields (experience with placement of graduates of the so far functioning Master study field). The most typical examples of application of nuclear and sub-nuclear physicist are:
basic research (Slovak Academy of Sciences, international research centers, international and domestic centers of research),
universities and educational institutions,
developmental laboratories and sectional institutes (inspection of radioactivity in the environment, application of radionuclids in the praxis, metrology of ionizing radiation),
nuclear power industry (internal and part-time dosimetry),
specialised healthcare institutions (application of radionuclids and associations of elements in diagnosing and therapy),
bodies of public healthcare system (guiding the health protection against the effects of ionizing radiation, inspection of the following of principles of radiation protection on workplaces with ionizing radiation, monitoring of radioactivity in the environment),
state administration (supervision over nuclear energy facilities, applying of principles of state policy in the area of protection against ionizing radiation),
private sector (environmental analyses, inspection of radioactivity in natural environments and accommodation premises, dating),
commercial companies of nuclear technology, laboratory facilities and sources of radiation
computer centers, banking system (data processing, statistical analysis, computer networks).
Graduates of the study programme of Nuclear and sub-nuclear physics have good language skills (especially English) and thanks to the quality and content of education they can find employment globally.
