Prospects of graduates

Graduates of the study program Business Economics and Managment in the field of study Economics and Management are oriented primarily to the position of business economist and manager who is capable of solving economic problems at all levels of management. They are also applicable as managers in small and medium-sized enterprises, or middle managers in larger companies, professional workers in administration. Graduates will gain all the prerequisites to be able critically analyse the macroeconomic, microeconomic and internal environment of the company with emphasis on corporate economic and managerial problems and processes. They will learn to synthesize knowledge of economics, economy, management, accounting, and economic analysis. They are able to identify and solve basic social problems and propose practical solutions based on economic and managerial principles. They have an adequate level of economic, managerial, and financial literacy, they have good information literacy and are able to communicate in a foreign language. They also have basic knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, management, accounting, taxes, as well as knowledge of other economic disciplines, e. g. finance and business sciences. They have practice-oriented applicable knowledge of mathematics, statistics, operational analysis, and financial-economic analysis. They have practical skills in analytical techniques and statistical methods applied to current economic problems. They can effectively communicate and present the results of analysis and proposed solutions. They work in teams, but also solve problems independently, take responsibility for the results of their work and the results of the team. The selected subjects of the study plan allow to develop their creativity and teamwork.

Conditions of admission

The same conditions and deadlines common to all faculties of the UE in Bratislava apply.



Conditions for international students

Foreign applicants have the same conditions as applicants from the Slovak Republic, however, they must complete a language and training course in order to meet the requirements of the study program in the Slovak language (except for applicants from the Czech Republic). Applicants who have been granted a certificate of a Slovak living abroad under a special regulation are considered a Slovak citizen. 



Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

Exempt from the obligation to take the entrance examination:

a) an applicant for study at the FBE UE in Košice, who in the academic years 2020/2021 - 2023/2024 participated in a nationwide round of a professional or economically oriented competition, organized with a nationwide scope for students of secondary schools: the Economic Olympiad, the Young Accountant Olympiad and the Mathematical Olympiad, held until 30 April 2024;

b) an applicant for study at the FBE UE in Košice, if in the academic years 2020/2021 - 2023/2024 he/she passed the nationwide round of the nationwide competition Olympiad of Business Manager for secondary school students, organised by the FBE UE in Košice, held until 30 April 2024;

c) an applicant for study at the FBE UE in Košice, if in the academic years 2020/2021 - 2023/2024 he/she passed the national round of the nationwide competition for secondary school students held in at least three rounds and the competition was organised by one of the faculties of the UE in Bratislava until 30 April 2024;

d) an applicant for studies at the FBE UE in Košice who passes the General Study Prerequisites test (or its Czech version General Scholastic Aptitude) and also the foreign language test which can be taken as part of the National Comparative Examinations (NCE) provided by Scio in the academic year 2023/2024. An applicant whose percentile score on each test is equal to or higher than 60 will be admitted to the study.

The National Comparative Examinations tests can be taken in several cities in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine during the 2023/2024 academic year. Candidates can take the tests more than once, and the best test result will always be counted. The test must be taken by 1 May 2024 at the latest.

Notice:

UE in Bratislava will only accept an electronic application form that will be created in the Academic Information System (AiS2) of EU in Bratislava. The UE in Bratislava will not accept electronic applications created on the HEI portal (www.portalvs.sk) into its system.

The admission fee can only be paid by bank transfer (not by postal order). A bank transfer order is not proof of payment of the admission fee. A bank account statement or a payment receipt or a payment confirmation from online banking may be accepted as proof of payment.
