Graduate Profile

The concept of the bachelor's study programme "Economics and Management in Wood Processing Companies" is based on the assumption that graduates will be prepared for managerial activity in organizations, in all types and forms of ownership of enterprises. Graduates of the bachelor's study programme will be able to analyse economic phenomena and processes in the enterprise and its surroundings and to take managerial decisions, especially in the areas of enterprise production factors, production management, planning and organisation of the enterprise production process. Graduates will have knowledge of national and enterprise economic disciplines, as well as basic professional knowledge of woodworking subjects. Graduates are able to work and apply at middle and lower management levels in the production and non-production sphere in the domestic economic environment and in the countries of the European Union, due to the acquired skills of professional communication in the world language. Within the framework of studies at the Faculty of Wood Technology, the graduate will acquire the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in economic practice and develop practical knowledge, especially in enterprises of wood processing industry.



Prospects of graduates

Graduates of the study programme "Economics and Management in Wood Processing Companies" are able to hold leading positions at middle management levels in the areas of business practice, in manufacturing enterprises of DSP, commercial firms and public organizations. The graduate is a qualified business manager for the management and economics of business and economic practice regardless of the size of enterprises, their ownership and legal forms. He/she is able to solve problems not only in corporate-economic practice, but also in a broader context to manage, make decisions and propose solutions that ensure the market economy entities achieve the desired goals. The ability to communicate in a world language provides the prerequisites for the graduate's application in the international market environment

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

Admission to the study programme Economics and Management in the Wood Processing Companies takes place without entrance examinations, only on the basis of the evaluation of the study results from secondary school, without the participation of applicants.

Secondary School Learning Assessment

Accomplishments shall be expressed as an average of the average value of the academic performance during the secondary school,

Student's academic performance shall be expressed as the average value of the academic performance during the secondary school

  • student average to be calculated from the end-of-year report cards of the 4 years of secondary school,

  • for a scholastic average of 1.00 is 100 points, for a scholastic average of 4.00 is 0 points. A linear function is used to assign the number of points according to the average,

  • disregard the level in the graduation average and evaluate it for information only,

  • the quality of achievement at different types of schools will be taken into account by multiplying the score achieved by a factor of 1.00 for grammar school graduates, by a factor of 0.9 for vocational school graduates and by a factor of 0.8 for apprenticeship school graduates.

General information on the admission exam
  • CV of the applicant - compulsory attachment,
  • receipt of payment of the admission fee - compulsory attachment,
  • for each study programme and form of study it is necessary to submit an application for university studies separately,
  • applicants are admitted to study on the basis of the evaluation of the results of studies from secondary school (except for applicants of Furniture and Interior Design)
  • Applicants who graduate in the 2021/2022 school year shall have their grade point average and a transcript of grades from the end-of-year report cards of grades 1-3 of the high school confirmed by the principal of the graduating high school on the application form.
  • Authenticated copies of the school leaving certificate and the 4th year school leaving certificate are required to be delivered by all applicants to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Woodworking as soon as they have been received - no later than 15 June 2022,
  • applicants who graduated last year and earlier shall enclose with their application a officially certified photocopy of the graduation certificate and all certificates from the secondary school (apprenticeship, post-secondary studies) and shall write in the application form the grade point average of each year of the end-of-year certificates of the 1st-4th year,

  • electronic application form for studies must be completed, printed directly from the system, signed, confirmed by the study average and the statement of grades for the individual years of graduated secondary school respectively. submit to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Woodworking together with the confirmation of payment of the handling fee within the deadline for submitting applications for studies
  • information about registered applications of applicants will be published on the website of the Technical University, in the university system UIS in the section of the results of entrance examinations after entering the applicant's birth number: http://is.tuzvo.sk/prijimacky/verejne_vysledky.pl,
  • the number of admitted students is planned for each study programme separately (see the list of accredited SP).
  • the results of the entrance examination and admission selection procedures will be published on the website after their evaluation at http://is.tuzvo.sk/prijimacky/verejne_vysledky.pl or on the faculty's website https://df.tuzvo.sk/sk/vysledky-prijimacieho-konania.
