Design of Furniture and Interior

The graduate of the bachelor's degree in art has theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of design, is able to use them creatively in independent design activities, in designing in various areas of economic and cultural life. He/she is proficient in technologies and materials according to the content of the study programme. Has knowledge of ecology, business and management.

Theoretical knowledge

- Graduate of the 1st degree in Arts:

- has knowledge of the history of design and fine art

- has knowledge of design theory and methodology, ergonomics and aesthetics

- has knowledge of design theory and methodology, ergonomics and aesthetics

- has knowledge of design theory and methodology, ergonomics and aesthetics

- has a basic knowledge of technological processes, materials and the fundamentals of design according to the content of the study programme.

- has a basic knowledge of the design process, materials and the fundamentals of design according to the content of the study programme.

Practical abilities and skills

- Graduate of a first degree in art

- is able to independently create and design design products and artworks for a wide area of economic, cultural and social life

- is able to use technologies and materials appropriately according to the programme of study

- is able to present his/her work

Additional knowledge and skills

- A graduate of the 1st degree in design is able to:

- keep in touch with developments in their discipline

- take and present positions in the field of design and material culture

- organise their professional development

- work as a member of a creative team

communicate about professional issues in at least one world language



Prospects of graduates

The graduates of the study programme "Design of Furniture and Interior" have theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of design, they are able to use them creatively in independent design activities, in designing in various areas of economic and cultural life. They master technologies and materials according to the content of the study programme. They have knowledge of ecology, business and management.

Application covers the placement of Bachelor's graduates in creative teams in furniture and interior design. These are corporate furniture design offices or interior design and architecture studios where graduates collaborate on creative inputs and develop the final application of selected tasks or interior elements. They are prepared to pursue a master's degree in design

All graduates of the Bachelor of Arts degree programs may continue their studies in the second degree programs (Engineering or Master of Arts) of their respective discipline.

Successful completion of the entrance talent tests - minimum score of 50 points.

General information on the admission exam

Admission Examination consists of parts verifying the applicant's creativity and artistic talent, his/her comprehensive design skills (including technical creativity) and a test to determine his/her orientation in the subject matter, or his/her knowledge and expertise in the field of fine arts, architecture and design.



Form of entrance exam

The entrance talent test lasts two days.

Timing schedule and scoring of the entrance exam:

- Talent exam, consists of the following tasks

Task 1. Drawing according to reality (still life), max. 25 points, 2 hours

Task No.2. Design of the shape and technical solution of a furniture element, (design, drawing, basic technical representation, scale model), max. 30 points, 4 hours.

Assignment No.3. Test of knowledge in fine art, architecture and design, max. 15 points, 1 hour

Assignment 4. Interior design (design, drawing, basic technical representation), max. 30 points, 4 hours

TOTAL: max. 100 points
