Design
The study is focused on development of aptitude and knowledge in the field of shaping, design, visual art, construction, manufacturing technology, ergonomics, ecology, computer aided design of creation and communication design. The graduate from Bachelor studies (Bc.) can work as a specialist is solving partial tasks of designer creation in projecting institutes, designer, architectonic and advertising studios.
Prospects of graduates
They are prepared for creative cooperation with independent designers (Mgr.art.), architects, projectors and constructors. The master study is realised in study studios of industrial design, communication design, product design and utility structures and design for new media. The graduate from Master studies (Mgr.art.) is able to professionally react to the requirements of practice in the field of product design in industry, in innovation of manufacturing programs, solution of visual communication, creation of corporate identity, electronic presentation, in design application in the field of new media and new economy (e-business). The graduate shall find their application as an independent designer and may work in designer, projection and construction company departments, in pedagogic activities, in consulting and marketing services.

about Conditions of admission for the study
- successful passing of the aptitude exams
- for the Bachelor studies completed full secondary school education
- for Mgr.art and Ing. study completed level I of university study in the branch, or in a related branch
The entrance aptitude exams for level 1 of the studyare for two days - with two rounds.
Scope of exams:
• practical demonstration of aptitude:
- drawing of a portrait or figure according to a model for the program design and free fine art,
- drawing of still life for the programme architecture and urbanism
- design of a utility object and logo or pictogram for the given topic from the design program
- for the programs architecture and urbanism and free fine art task from composition
- solution of further assigned topics, according to the study branch in which the applicant shall prove their creativity and
aptitude for study of the given programme.
• written test from basic knowledge from the field of culture, fine art, architecture, design, further knowledge according to the branch (architecture - test from mathematics)
• personal interview with the applicant that shall proceed to the second round of the entrance exam

The order of applicants for acceptance for the study is given by the sum of the arithmetic average of evaluation of all the present committee members for the aptitude exams ·
- Publishing the codes of applicants and their placement in the second round of aptitude exams on the website of the faculty may be performed only after submission of the protocol with signature of the committee chairman and approval of the dean of the faculty ·
- The dean decides on acceptance for the study according to the order and the capacity possibilities of the faculty.
The conditions of admission for Master and Engineer studies at FU TU in Košice for the academic year 2011/12.
Requirements for the student:
- completion of Bachelor study in the given or relative study branch
- submission of portfolio
- oral interview
Publishing the results of applicants on the website of the faculty may be performed only after submission of the protocol with the signature of the committee chairman and approval of the dean of the faculty.
The dean decides on acceptance for the study based on the order according to the proposal of the chairman of the admission committee for the given branch and according to the capacity possibilities of the faculty.

Additional information
the fee must be paid to the address of FU TU in Košice, Letná 9, 042 00 Košice, financial institution: State Treasury, account number 7000151441/818, variable symbol - Birth Registration Number, message for the recipient - indicate the study programme, the slip must be pasted on the second page of the application form (next to the extract of marks from secondary school),
applicants for the study programme Free Fine Art are obliged to specify a certain studio in the application form
if the applicant is interested in more study programmes, they must submit a separate application form for each programme
the entrance exams have two rounds
the dean's office shall confirm reception of the application and send invitation and information on the admission procedure to the applicants not later than 30 days prior to the term of the entrance exams.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
The condition of admission to the Bachelor study is completed secondary school study and successful passing of the aptitude entrance exam that shall take place in February, March.
Scope of aptitude entrance exams for Bachelor study:
basic knowledge from fine art, architecture, design,
practical demonstration of aptitude:
drawing of portrait or figure according to a live model
creative solution of assigned topics, specific according to the study programme, focused on identification of creativeness of the applicant for study of the selected branch
personal interview with the applicant that shall proceed to the second round of the entrance exam.
The condition for acceptance to the master and engineer study is completed Bachelor study in the branch, submission of work portfolio and extract from evaluation of the Bachelor study subjects.
