Digital Arts

The study program links fine art and design with computer technologies. It responds to a fast changing world in which it is important to be able to acquire new skills and where a wide range of modern digital technologies bring visual artists closer to programmers. Besides the practical use of computers in the creative process, the program also includes the social dimension of the impact of digital technologies on humans and innovative means of expression which digital technologies provide artists with. The interdisciplinary nature of the program links students with academic and commercial subjects in the field of art, information technologies or data science but also in the field of humanities, social and historical sciences. The studio work focuses not only on standard forms but also for example on interactive, digital works, experiments in virtual reality and augmented reality (AR/VR), data visualizations, video games, interactive installations inviting a visitor to participate etc.

Prospects of graduates

The graduate of bachelor´s degree study program Digital Art has acquired creative competences in the field of digital content, has understood computer thinking and design, has mastered the basis of programming and is able to creatively link various approaches and technologies.

The graduate can be employed as a freelance artist or a creator of computer graphics and animations, visualisations and infographics, interactive digital content etc. In addition to free artistic work the graduate has subscribers and customers in media, marketing, video game and creative industry. Museums, galleries and schools also utilize work of digital artists in the form of various interactive applications.

The graduate can also continue in further studies at the master´s level of study programs specialized on the field of Design, Fine Art, Architectural Work. They can also apply for master´s degree study programs in the field of information technologies as well as humanities, social and historical sciences.

Conditions of admission

Conditions of Admission

The applicant for the study program will fill in and send electronically an electronic application at latest by 9th July 2020. Subsequently the applicant will print out the application, sign it and send it at latest by 10th July 2020. The following attachments are to be sent together with the application:

- professional CV

- verified copy of a school leaving certificate (foreign applicants or applicants who have studied abroad will add the nostrification of the certificate issued by a regional educational office)

- if applicants are in their graduation year, they will have the transcript of courses and grades confirmed in their printed application.

- proof of fee payment

- statement of declaration of health and fitness signed by the applicant
