Composition
The study programme Composition has a standard length of study of 2 years in the 2nd cycle of higher education in the field of study Art. The study programme is implemented only in full-time form by the full-time method, which consists in teaching in direct contact between the teacher and the student. The study is primarily based on the student's practical compositional work, from the creation of a concept presented to the teacher, to the final musical work, usually publicly presented, where the emphasis is primarily on the creative process itself.
Prospects of graduates
A graduate of the Master's degree programme in Composition acquires the competence:
- to exercise the profession of a musical artist - composer at the level of master's degree,
- to exercise the profession of a secondary school teacher of composition at a secondary art school - conservatory,
- to exercise the profession of a teacher at a primary school, where he/she is competent to teach composition, music education and to lead school music ensembles,
- to carry out pedagogical activities, it is necessary to complete the Supplementary Pedagogical Study, which extends the competence profile just by the pedagogical competence;
- for the exercise of the profession in the following satellite professions:
- music dramaturge in theatres and other cultural institutions,
- music dramaturge of an artistic ensemble, opp. ,
- after successful completion of the entrance exams, a graduate of the master's degree may continue his/her doctoral studies in a related study programme.

A student may apply for the Master's degree after successful completion of the first level of studies in the field of study Art.
The applicant must demonstrate the required level of knowledge and skills resulting from the requirements of the field of study and the programme and the prerequisites for independent artistic activity in his/her specialisation.
A graduate of a Bachelor's degree of the corresponding specialization who has demonstrated in his/her practical work a distinctive artistic expression and talent prerequisites for further creative growth may apply for the Master's degree. - Admission requirements for the MFA program are published on the www.fmu.aku.sk

Conditions for international students
For international applicants, the same conditions for online application as above apply. The documents of the completed studies must be translated into Slovak language and certified.
Foreigners applying to study in an accredited study programme are recommended to acquire such knowledge of the Slovak language that fluent communication is possible during their studies at the faculty. It is also possible to use the Czech language while studying at the faculty.
It is necessary to submit proof of completion of language training at the UK Bratislava Institute of Linguistics or a similar professional language institution (except for foreign Slovaks and applicants from the Czech Republic).

The faculty does not require a medical certificate of medical fitness for university studies.
Attachments to the printed online application: structured CV, proof of payment.
Certified photocopies of completed studies (university diploma, state exam certificate, diploma supplement) from graduates of the Faculty of Performing Arts are not required to verify photocopies. Candidates will only need to submit a structured CV before the defence and the state examination in 2023.
In case of incomplete and missing data, the application will not be registered.
