Performing Arts
The goal of education in the Performing Arts program is to prepare future graduates of the program in their chosen field of study for professional careers in the performing arts through the development of each student's talents and creativity, for professional autonomous artistic activity in solo, chamber and orchestral performance, for the leadership of artistic groups or, after completing the qualification training in pedagogical disciplines, for the profession of a teacher of a primary art school or conservatory. Successful completion of the Master's degree enables the graduate to continue in a follow-up doctoral study programme at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica or at Slovak and foreign higher art schools in an equivalent study programme.
Master's degree programme in Performing Arts with a profile focus on :
choir conducting, piano - chamber direction, piano - concert direction, accordion, guitar, violin, dulcimer, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, percussion, vocal performance, musical singing;
Prospects of graduates
Depending on the chosen focus, a graduate of the Performing Arts program may be employed as a soloist in instrumental or vocal music performance, as a concertmaster, choral conductor, choirmaster, instrumental group leader, or leader of an artistic ensemble, member of professional music ensembles, member of an orchestra, chamber player - member of a chamber ensemble, member of a music group, member of an ensemble, member of a choir, accompanist, also in the audiovisual media, as a manager of cultural institutions, music dramaturge in orchestras and theatres.

A student may apply for the Master's degree after successful completion of the 1st degree in the field of study Arts.
The applicant must demonstrate the required level of knowledge and skills resulting from the requirements of the field of study and the programme and the prerequisites for independent artistic activity in his/her specialisation.
A graduate of a Bachelor's degree of the corresponding specialization who has demonstrated in his/her practical work a distinctive artistic expression and talent prerequisites for further creative growth may apply for the Master's degree.
The entrance examination consists of a practical and a theoretical part. The practical part takes the form of a presentation of the candidate's performance skills. It is aimed at ascertaining the applicant's performance skills and disposition through the performance of the required repertoire.The scope and content of the required repertoire depends on the chosen field of study. The theoretical part is conducted in the form of an interview, which tests knowledge of the following areas: music theory, counterpoint, harmony, musical forms, musical instruments, intonation and rhythm, music history, foreign language.

Conditions for international students
For international applicants, the same conditions for online application as above apply. The documents of completed studies must be translated into Slovak and verified.
Foreigners applying to study in an accredited study programme are recommended to acquire such knowledge of the Slovak language that fluent communication is possible during their studies at the faculty. It is also possible to use the Czech language while studying at the faculty.
It is necessary to submit proof of completion of language training at the ÚJOP UK Bratislava, or a similar professional language institution (except for foreign Slovaks and applicants from the Czech Republic).

The faculty does not require a medical certificate of medical fitness for university studies.
Attachments to the printed online application form: structured CV, proof of payment of the fee.
Certified photocopies of completed studies (university diploma, state examination certificate, diploma supplement) from graduates of the Faculty of Performing Arts are not required to verify photocopies. Candidates will only need to submit a structured CV before the defence and the state examination in 2023.
In case of incomplete and missing data, the application will not be registered.
