Aplikovaná informatika
The Applied Informatics PhD programme includes theoretical and methodological knowledge as well as practical skills in the essential areas of core informatics. Graduates will also gain knowledge of information and communication networks, and understand modelling and simulation of systems and processes. To achieve this goal, courses in the core of information systems and software engineering overlap with four application domains: information technology security, biometrics, modelling and simulation of event-driven systems, and IT in management and decision making. Individual and team work, formulation, solution and presentation of research results are also emphasized during the course of study.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates are open to a wide range of professional careers in various sectors of science, research, industry and services, such as auditing large-scale information and communication systems, designing systems for the protection of sensitive data, modelling work-flow processes and embedded systems, as well as designing information systems and software products for automation and management needs in industry.
