Prospects of graduates

Graduate of the study program Analytical chemistry is able to independently, or in a team, solve tasks in the area of analytical chemistry and other areas of chemistry. He can apply his knowledge with high level of creativity and independence in the research and development laboratories of sectoral character, in chemical, food, pharmaceutical industry, in medicine, agriculture, and in environmental protection. He is able to participate in inter-discipline cooperation and apply knowledge of chemistry into other areas of human activities. Graduate is able to feasibly evaluate the reactivity of chemical compounds and mechanisms of individual type of reactions and utilize deep knowledge of physics-chemical laws, solve matter structure using modern spectral methods, use modern laboratory technology, practices, analytical and separation methods. Graduate is able to more complexly profile within the frame of chosen focus of diploma thesis to analytical chemistry,

Study on the second level creates qualifications for continuing in study on the third level. It is assumed that some graduates will continue with the third level at foreign universities.

Admission to study of second level study program requires completion of the first level study program in the field chemistry or in a related field.

Conditions of admission

If the conditions for admission without an entrance exam are not fulfilled, the applicant may be admitted on the basis of outcome of Master study entrance exam, in the standard length of study of two or three years. The content of the entrance exam matches the content of a corresponding Bachelor exam of the study program, to which is the given Master study program connected and it's available on the faculty website.

Conditions for international students

International students who will study in Slovak language are admitted under the same conditions as Slovak applicants, In the case of study in English language, they are admitted and are studying on the basis of a study agreement, which is concluded individually with each student.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

Applicant will be admitted without an entrance exam, if he fulfiled the conditions of Bachelor study program and completed the Bachelor state exam from required subjects which in the case of a graduate of other faculty or university are equivalent to subjects of state exam of corresponding Bachelor study program at FoS UPJŠ. Standard length of Master study programmes in this case is two years,

General information on the admission exam

The Faculty reserves the right to decide not to open a study programme in the event of an insufficient number of applicants meeting the admission requirements. In this case, the decision will be communicated to the applicants and they will be invited to change their study programme. If the applicant does not accept the offer, the faculty will refund the full admissions fee.
