Contemporary issues in criminal law theory and practice

The primary objective of this longstanding, interdisciplinary, nationwide conference is to analyze doctrinal, interpretative, and practical issues in contemporary criminal law theory and practice. The conference aims to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge in the areas of substantive criminal law and criminal procedure law, as well as to address issues related to disciplines connected to criminal law. The conference also includes the exchange of knowledge on research projects in the relevant field, and the fostering of interdisciplinary discussion regarding the current state of criminal law and related disciplines.

- Creating a forum for the presentation of current issues and challenges that require addressing, especially in light of new methods and techniques used to commit crimes and other antisocial acts.

-Initiating a discussion on issues in the legislative realm, focusing on the current versions of criminal codes post-recodification, particularly on the gaps that arise due to constant changes (despite recodification).

-Exchanging knowledge in areas that, due to the vast and ever-changing scope of issues within substantive and procedural criminal law, cannot be adequately addressed individually.

- Creating a platform for discussion and problem-solving in related sciences, disciplines, and fields, whose connection to criminal law issues is very close and where there is a need for practical solutions in the field of security.

- Exchanging knowledge and information about current research projects in the field of criminal law and related disciplines.

- Addressing challenges in practical application – not only in criminal law but also in related disciplines, and outlining new potential solutions with implications for practical application.

- Exchanging information and presenting issues in foreign legal systems.
