Faculty profile
The Faculty of Education began its history in the school year 1949/50 when a branch of the Faculty of Education at the Slovak University in Bratislava was established in Banská Bystrica. The first college in Banská Bystrica was established in 1954. It was the Higher Pedagogical School. On 1 September 1964 the Faculty of Pedagogy was founded. The new history of the Faculty of Pedagogy began in July 1992, when it became a part of Matej Bel University. The mission of the faculty is to prepare new professionals in helping professions oriented to work with people, especially pedagogical and social ones, to develop scientific knowledge in them.

Students can get accommodation based on the set criteria in the Student Houses of Matej Bel University or privately.
Boarding
Every student of PF UMB has the opportunity to eat in the canteen and cafeterias, which are located directly on the PF UMB campus.
