Applied Analytic Chemistry

Graduates of the professionally oriented study programme Applied Analytical Chemistry have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of analytical, general, inorganic, organic, medicinal chemistry and biochemistry, as well as mathematics, physics, biology and computing. They are able to carry out technical work independently in chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical as well as medical facilities. Thanks to the professionally oriented study programme, industry will obtain the necessary, practically proficient graduates who are familiar with the functioning of real employers, their requirements for knowledge, skills and the principles of professional ethics. Graduates will also be able to acquire, process and present scientific information.
Graduates of the study programme have the prerequisites:
 to apply primarily in cooperating organisations, in which professional practice has been carried out, as trained employees, which they need for the performance of work in the laboratory,
 to apply in various chemical, pharmaceutical, medical, environmental research and operational facilities and to perform more demanding work of a technical nature, work with instrumental analytical equipment,

Conditions of admission

The basic condition for admission to the bachelor's programme is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (§ 56 (1) 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts).
The admission procedure is conducted without an entrance examination.
For the admission of an applicant to the Bachelor's study programme, the data on the course of studies at secondary school will be decisive.
In determining the score, the following is simultaneously taken into account:
- the study average at secondary school without the matriculation examination,
- the result of the matriculation examination.
Students who have completed their studies at foreign universities, foreign students, shall submit nostrified documents on completed studies in accordance with Act No. 422/2015 Coll. on the Recognition of Documents on Education and on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts.



Additional information

The application form must include:
- CV,
- proof of payment of the admission fee,
- high school report cards for 1-4. year officially certified (registrar/notary)
- high school leaving certificate officially certified (registrar/notary)
An applicant who is graduating in the school year 2023/2024 shall list on the application form the grades from the end-of-year leaving certificates for 1st-3rd grades.
In the case of a five-year course of study, he/she writes out the grades for the 2nd-4th year, which he/she has the secondary school certify in his/her application form, or he/she submits the officially certified (by the registry office/notary) certificates mentioned above in his/her application form.

The applicant who has graduated before the school year 2023/2024 shall list the grades from the end-of-year report cards for the 1st-4th year of the school year in the application form.

The applicant shall deliver the marks for the 1st-4th year (2nd-5th year) and the matriculation certificate officially certified (by the registry office/notary) no later than 14 June 2024.





Conditions for international students

Admission conditions for international students are the same as for students from the Slovak Republic. The condition of admission to the study programme conducted in Slovak language is the knowledge of Slovak language at the level enabling the study in Slovak language.
Foreign applicants prove their knowledge of the language with a Certificate of Slovak language proficiency at the B2 level.
