Conditions of admission

Pursuant to Act No. 131/2002 Coll., completion of higher secondary education is the principal prerequisite for enrolment in Bachelor degree studies. Other requirements:

- filled in application form for university studies sent out by appointed date,

- passed entrance exam.

Additional information

Applications form for Bachelor degree studies shall include

- verified photocopy of the last school report and the school-leaving report. Applicants who will sit for their school leaving exam in the academic year 2009/10 are required to submit a copy of their school leaving report by the day of entrance exam at the latest.

- Applications form must include verified photocopies of school reports, unless secondary education qualifications have been validated by the respective secondary school.

- confirmation of health ability for university study and for jobs in the field chosen by the applicant.

- Structured CV.

- Payment of the fee for admission procedure.

Filled in application form, required attachments thereto and payment of the fee for the admission procedure shall be submitted to the following address: Univerzita J. Selyeho, Pedagogická fakulta, Bratislavská cesta 3322, 945 01 Komárno, Slovakia.

The faculty (study department of the JSU) shall then confirm their receipt of the application form in writing within 30 days following the application form and send details of the contents and course of entrance exam. The faculty shall define a date for the applicant to complete missing documents if applicable.

Applicants having submitted online applications form will be informed about the result of entrance exam via AIS JSU, applicants having submitted applications on ŠEVT form will be informed by mail.

Payment of the admission procedure for all three degrees:

- for applications form submitted by mail: EUR 50.00

- for online applications form (printed version must be enclosed): EUR 25.00

Admission procedure is deemed to begin upon submission of application form at the faculty. Admission procedure fee will not be refunded.

Bachelor degree distance tuition may be subject to fees. Pursuant to Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on universities and on amendment and supplements to certain laws as amended, the fee amount for JSU EF is defined in the JSU internal instruction "Schooling fees and fees relating to studies at J. Selye University in Komárno for academic year 2010/2011".

The faculty reserves the right not to open a study programme if the number of applicants is insufficient and to offer the applicants a similar study programme if possible.

The faculty reserves the right to exempt applicants from entrance exam if the number of applicants for the respective study programme is lower than planned number of students.

All applicants will be required to sit for entrance exam if the number of applicants meeting the requirements for entrance without exam is higher than planned number of students.

Conditions for international students

Conditions of admission for international students are identical to those applying to citizens of the Slovak Republic. Secondary education qualifications obtained abroad shall be validated in the SR and proving documents submitted at Students Department by appointed deadline.

Applicants who passed their school leaving exams in one of the major subjects and their yearly school reports score average is not more than 2.00 will automatically earn full score (100) for the entrance exam.
