Laboratory Medicine
A graduate of the bachelor's study program Laboratory Medicine can find a wide application in health care in the departments of clinical biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, pathology (cytology), hematology, genetics, toxicology, immunology, allergology, etc. He can also work in the laboratories of the hygienic service as well as in scientific laboratories. The graduate has the prerequisites for further university, specialization and continuous education.
Important announcement: In agreement with the Act 131/2002 Coll. on universities and on amendment of certain acts, the standard length of study for students enrolled in the study programme in the academic year 2023/2024 until the first year of study in part-time form of study, is changed to three years

- completed secondary education or a full secondary vocational education;
- medical fitness for university studies in the medical field of study and for the exercise of the relevant medical profession;
- successful completion of the entrance exam;
- entrance examination: successful completion of a biochemistry test in the scope of secondary school curriculum (minimum 40 points);
- those candidates who obtain the highest number of points for the entrance examination will be admitted.

Conditions for international students
The conditions of admission are identical to the conditions of admission of Slovak students.
Applicants who have completed secondary school studies abroad (except for documents obtained in the Czech Republic) will submit, in addition to the mandatory attachments, the original or a certified copy of the decision on recognition of education certificates issued to the applicant by the relevant district office, Department of Education. This decision will be submitted by the candidate at the entrance examination.

- Duly completed application form for university studies of the first degree and the following required documents must be attached:
o The copies of the End of Year School Report for the 4th grade and the School- Leaving Examination Certificate.
o The medical confirmation of general health and the ability to study at the university level in the healthcare field of study and for the performance of a profession in the selected study programme (in the prescribed form).

- Applicants for studies can also send an application in paper version (in the prescribed application form – ŠEVT form). The application must be written legibly in blue ink and sent with the copies of the required documents directly to the faculty of healthcare.
- Officially certified copies of the End of Year School Report for the 4th grade and the School-Leaving Examination Certificate, the original medical confirmation of general health and the ability to study at the university level in the healthcare field of study and for the performance of the profession in the selected study programme must be submitted no later than on the day of the entrance exam.
- The registered applicants who fail to deliver all the required documents within the specified deadline, will be assumed to have declined the offer to study at the faculty.

Written exam
The test is focused on biochemistry in the scope of secondary school curriculum. There are 50 questions in the test, one answer is correct, for each correct answer the candidate gets 2 points, for the whole test he can get a maximum of 100 points.
