Control Systems in Production Engineering

The graduate of the study programme Control Systems in Production Technology understands the essential facts, concepts, principles and contexts of the theory, construction and management of information and control systems in production technology with application to the conditions of the agro-sector. Graduates of the study programme Control Systems in Production Technology acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of information and control systems with an emphasis on their application in production processes. The student will be able to analyze and solve situations that may arise in their design, creation and application in the production process. Possesses knowledge of the possibilities of using control elements and systems for various types of production technology. Integrates the technical, information, communication and economic knowledge necessary to ensure the design and operation of these systems. Can solve technical problems caused by their operation. The graduate knows, can operate, design and implement appropriate systems for specific technical equipment and production processes. Knows the principles and principles of design and control of control elements and is able to develop appropriate application software for their operation and control. Can ensure the safe, reliable, economical and environmentally sound operation of a production process through appropriate information and/or control systems.



Prospects of graduates

Graduates of the study programme "Control Systems in Production Technology" at the second level of higher education (Ing.) are able to analyse and solve problems in production processes. They have knowledge of the possibilities of using control elements and systems for various types of production technology. They integrate the technical, information, communication and economic knowledge necessary to ensure the design and operation of these systems. Graduates are able to manage manufacturing systems and use the general knowledge of applied sciences necessary for understanding and mastering the concepts, principles and interrelationships operating in control and information systems for manufacturing technology. The student is able to use information technology and create his/her own application and control programs. Is able to design control systems for production lines. From the data collected by TF SPU in Nitra on the application of its graduates in practice, it can be concluded that graduates have found employment in virtually all sectors of the national economy. To a considerable extent, they are also applied in mechanical and electrical engineering organisations, especially in production technology departments related to the use of information and control technologies.

Conditions of admission

The basic conditions of admission to study in the second degree programme are:

higher education of the first degree or higher education of the second degree, the sum of the number of credits obtained in the previous higher education studies leading to the higher education degree and the number of credits required for the proper completion of the second degree programme for which the applicant is applying must be at least 300 credits.



Additional information

Additional conditions of admission to the study programme of the second degree:
- candidates for admission to engineering studies who have completed the bachelor study programme in the study field 5.2.3 Transport Machinery and Equipment, 5.2.46 Agricultural and Forestry Technology, 5.2.50 Production Technology and 5.2.57 Production Quality will not take the admission examination. Applicants will list one programme of study per application from the range of programmes offered for the 2017/2018 academic year. Passing a state examination in one of the listed fields of study is considered to demonstrate core knowledge,
- applicants for admission to engineering studies who have completed their studies in another field of study must pass an entrance examination (in the form of a written test) on core knowledge of the relevant field of study.

Conditions for international students

According to the amendment to the Higher Education Act, studies in the Academ. 2017/2018 academic year will take place

in study programmes in the Slovak language.

Admission of foreign students to the study will be conditional on their knowledge of the Slovak language.

General information on the admission exam

Student applicants may apply for two study programmes in a given field on one application form. The faculty will send applicants detailed information about the admission procedure and the entrance examinations.

If the applicant decides to submit a classical application form (paper form), a confirmation of payment of the material support fee for the admission procedure must be sent together with the application form. Under no circumstances pay the fee by postal order.

When submitting your application electronically, you will pay the fee in cash, following the instructions on the online application form. Please fill in the payment order carefully, this will prevent any problems with identifying your payment. There is no need to send proof of payment of the fee with this method of application. Do not forget to print out the electronic application form and send it to the Study Department of SPU Nitra. The electronic application form alone is not sufficient. It is necessary to attach a CV to the application form.

In the overall evaluation of the admission procedure, the study results
from the bachelor's degree are also taken into account, so it is necessary to send a copy of the diploma, the state examination certificate and the supplement to the diploma to the Study Department. Only applicants from other universities are required to have certified documents of completion of the first cycle of university studies.

For more detailed information about studying at TF, applicants can visit the faculty's website. After successful completion of the bachelor's degree, students can continue their engineering studies in one of the study programmes listed above.
