Regional Development and Policies of the EU
In accordance with the description of the field of study 3.3.5 Public Administration and Regional Development (2nd level), graduates of the study programme Regional development and Policies of the EU have the knowledge of economic theory and policy, regional economics and politics, theories of management of public administration and public sector, administrative law, methods of analysis and management of economic and social processes. Based on the obtained knowledge, graduates are able to analyze and explain the socio-economic processes in the competence of public administration and local authorities; specify, design and implement software solutions and manage each step of the creation and implementation of programmes and projects, and identify crucial problems related to the objectives of the European regional policy and other community policies, includingapplication of adequate instruments of its implementation.
Graduates can successfully work as senior staff of departments and sections of state and local governments at the national, regional and local levels as well as professionals in the EU institutions. Furthermore, they can work in entities engaged in regional and local development (non-profit organizations, civic associations), where they are able to design and implement the development programmes and projects.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates are able to solve complex problems of social practise at local, regional and state governmental levels, while using theoretical knowledge obtained during the study of the professional subjects. Graduates are able to define development strategies in rural municipalities and regions, they know the tools necessary for their realization and they can apply them in practise in a creative manner. They are able to make decisions individually, as well as to work in teams as managers or professionals in the field of regional and spatial development. They are able to communicate with co-workers and subordinate workers. They know how to use public relations methods and techniques.

Pursuant to Section 56, Paragraph 1 of Act No. 131/2002 Coll., as amended, the basic condition for admission to engineering studies is a first-level university education or a second-level university education, while the sum of the number of credits obtained for the previous university studies that led to the acquisition of a university education and the number of credits required for the proper completion of the second-level study program for which the applicant is applying must be at least 300 credits.
OTHER CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO STUDY
- Applicants for study will be ranked according to the results achieved at the bachelor's level of study and the evaluation of the state examination. Applicants with the highest number of points obtained will be admitted. An applicant for study may obtain a maximum of 80 points, while the condition for admission to the second level of study will be obtaining at least 5 points.
- For a study program conducted in a combination of English and Slovak languages, applicants shall send a certified copy of an English language certificate (according to CEFR at level B2 or according to IELTS at least 5.5) to the address: Study Department FESRD SUA in Nitra, Tr. A. Hlinku 2, 949 76 Nitra. In the event that the applicant does not prove language competence with a certificate, he or she has the right to request the Dean's Office to allow the demonstration of language competence by personal interview or via SKYPE interview no later than 10 calendar days before the admission procedure.

- It is possible to apply for two study programs in one form of study within one admission procedure fee on one application form,
- The faculty admits applicants for study without an entrance exam and without a personal interview, based on the results achieved at the bachelor's level of study,

- applicants for study programs at the second level of study will be placed on the waiting list based on the points obtained according to the criteria of the admission procedure, while the condition for admission to the II. level of study will be obtaining at least 5 points,
- applicants for study will attach a document on payment of the fee for material support of the admission procedure to the electronic application,
- after the admission procedure, the applicant will receive a decision on the result of the admission procedure within 30 days from the verification of compliance with the conditions for admission to the study. An applicant who does not meet the condition (successfully completed bachelor's degree) at the time of the admissions committee meeting may be conditionally admitted,
- an applicant who will be admitted to a study program is obliged to provide information to the faculty whether he/she will enroll in the study according to the instructions he/she will receive in writing together with the admission decision (e-return is part of the decision),
- the applicant's personal data (name, surname, birth number, address, etc.) will be used in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 18/2018 Coll. only for the needs of the admissions procedure and may not be provided for other purposes,
- the dean may accept the results of the admissions procedure at other faculties of the University of Applied Sciences in Nitra, or other universities,
- the dean may offer applicants who were not placed on the waiting list for the applied study program the possibility of admission to an alternative program with a lower number of applicants,
- the faculty reserves the right not to open a study program in full-time or part-time form for which a low number of applicants apply. In such a case, the faculty will offer the applicant another accredited study program. If the applicant is not interested in studying in the alternative study program, the application for study with all attachments, as well as the admission fee, will be returned to the applicant.

INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS
Foreign applicants or applicants who have passed their secondary school leaving examination abroad are required to attach, in addition to the mandatory attachments, to the application form or Application Form (http://www.uniag.sk/en/admission-requirements/), also the Decision on the recognition of a document of education. The decision on the recognition of a document of education is issued by the relevant Regional Office of the School Administration according to the place of permanent residence of the applicant. The procedure for processing the above documents is provided on the website of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic https://www.minedu.sk/uznavanie-ukoncenohe-vzdelania-na-zakladnych-a-strednych-skolach/. In the case of a foreign applicant without a residence permit in the Slovak Republic, the decision is issued by the Regional Office of the School Administration in Nitra, J. Vuruma 1, 949 01 Nitra, an application for the recognition of a document of education.
Foreign applicants or Applicants who have completed the first level of higher education abroad are required to attach, in addition to the mandatory attachments, a Decision on the recognition of a document of education to the application form or Application Form.
The Decision on the recognition of a document of education (recognition of a degree of education without comparing the field) is issued by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic if the recognition of the degree is requested by an applicant whose document of education was issued in a state with which an international bilateral agreement was signed, but also by an applicant from any other state for the purpose of proving the fulfillment of the basic condition for admission to study. The decision on the recognition of a document of education (recognition of a document of education in a field of study) is issued by a higher education institution in the Slovak Republic that carries out a study program in the same or a related field of study as stated on the document of duly completed higher education. Foreign applicants (except for applicants from the Czech Republic and applicants who passed the Slovak language matriculation examination) who apply for a study program provided at SUA in Nitra in the Slovak language and in combination Slovak and English language must complete an online test and an online oral interview aimed at determining the level of their language proficiency in the Slovak language. Testing is provided by the SUA Language Center in Nitra (https://cj.uniag.sk/sk/domov/ on two dates, which applicants will be informed about in advance. After completing the language exam, the applicant will be issued a certificate of the summary result of the online test and online interview, which will correspond to the language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The test and certificate are charged €30. If the applicant's language proficiency level is lower than A1, the applicant will not be admitted to the study. If the applicant's language proficiency level is A1, the applicant has met one of the admission requirements for the study, but will be required to complete a 30-hour paid Slovak language course organized by the SUA Language Center in Nitra (course fee: €120). The course will take place from August 25, 2025 to September 5, 2025. After completing the course, the applicant will be issued a certificate of completion. If the applicant's language proficiency level is A2 or higher, the applicant has met one of the admission requirements for the study.
