The graduate has extensive knowledge of theories of social work in the context of their historical development, in relation to contemporary social work and their applicability in individual fields of social work and to individual client groups, has extensive knowledge of methods and forms of social work in direct relation to client groups of social work and theoretical concepts of social policy at the level of evaluation in interdisciplinary contexts. He/she is familiar with the distinctive and typically specific features of individual social work client groups and is proficient in research methodology and statistics both generally and specifically oriented to social work. Possesses professional theoretical knowledge of supervision, management and design in social work complemented by practical skills acquired through professional practice. The graduate is able to carry out social counselling, social rehabilitation, crisis intervention, social assessment, social work with the individual, social work with the family, social work with the group and social work with the community. It is prepared to represent and promote the interests of vulnerable groups, to be an agent of change. Possesses professional communication and management skills to perform managerial functions and is able to use key communication and management skills to the benefit of the client. Is able to work in a team and foster interdisciplinary and interprofessional cooperation, is able to mediate contact with actors in the social environment (institutions and professionals) concerned with a given social problem.

He/she is able to work in a team and strengthen interprofessional and interdisciplinary cooperation.

The graduate meets the qualification prerequisite for the professional activity of a social worker: in the department of central state administration bodies (Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Office of Social Welfare), at the level of local and regional self-government - cities / municipalities, self-governing regions, in state administration institutions (Office of Social Welfare), in social service institutions, in institutions of socio-legal protection of children and social curatorship, in third sector organizations, but especially in community care (community centers), at the local level in the framework of field social work.

Can be employed as a social worker, professional worker of local government in the social field, professional worker of employment counselling services, specialist in the field of social and family policy.
