It is assumed that the graduate has completed a first degree in Restoration.
The graduate of the Master's degree in Restoration - Master of Arts in Restoration - has specialized practical and theoretical training, based on the study of one of the restoration disciplines and on the knowledge of the current state of the art in the field. It can be creatively applied in the exercise of their profession or in the continuation of their university studies.

A candidate for a Master's degree at the VŠVU can become a student of the chosen study programme only on the basis of passing the admission process. If a student has completed a bachelor's degree, i.e. a first degree programme, he/she may apply for admission to the VŠVU in the prescribed manner.
Applicants for the Restoration and Architectural Design study programmes must be graduates of a Bachelor's degree programme with a focus on Restoration and Architectural Design as these are regulated vocation study programmes.
In the event that admissions interviews are held before the completion of the first degree program, the applicant is admitted to the Master's degree program on a conditional basis. Definitive admission is conditional upon successful completion of the first degree programme. Proof of completion of the first cycle programme must be submitted within ten days of completion of the first cycle programme, but no later than the enrolment deadline of September 2024, i.e. by submitting a certified copy of the bachelor's diploma and the supplement.
The applicant must prove completion of the first cycle programme by submitting a certified copy of the bachelor's diploma and the supplement.
Unless the college issues evidence of education after the enrolment deadline (later than September), students are advised not to apply or submit their application until the following academic year.

A candidate for a Master's degree at the AFAD may apply for a maximum of two of the following study programmes (specify the studio to which he/she is applying!) - the applicant pays the fee twice. An applicant can also apply to two studios within one study programme - the applicant pays the fee only once.

Conditions for international students
All foreign applicants (with the exception of Czech applicants) must be proficient in the Slovak language at B1 level by the time they start their studies.
Foreign applicants and applicants who have studied abroad, in case of admission to the study, shall submit a decision on recognition of a document of education issued abroad no later than by the enrolment date (September 2024)
The admission procedure is designed to test the applicant's level of knowledge, talent, thinking, abilities and skills in the light of the specific demands made on the applicant by the chosen Master's degree programme. The admission procedure is evaluated by an admissions committee appointed by the Rector of the University of Applied Sciences for each study programme separately.
The committee will assess the applicant's individual abilities and prerequisites to independently and creatively master the requirements of the Master's degree programme at the Academy of Performing Arts, his/her outlook on the issues and developments in the field, his/her level of thinking, his/her knowledge of art history and theory. The committee will also take into account the results achieved in the completed bachelor's degree programme (weighted study average in this study).
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Step 1: The electronic application form is located:
- for students of the VŠVU in the AIS (left menu - application form)
- for students from other schools on the VŠVU website https://www.vsvu.sk/en/admissions/online-application/ The applicant must upload a professional CV directly into the electronic application
Step 2: Submit the following attachments to the email address kozakova@vsvu.sk:
- proof of payment of the admission fee (e.g. internet banking payment statement) - the fee must be paid no later than 22 May 2024, the variable symbol, the specific symbol and as a Note or Additional Information - NAME and SIGNATURE of the applicant; otherwise the payment will not be paired
- electronic copy of the bachelor's diploma, in case of a diploma issued abroad also with an official translation into Slovak language (except for Czech documents)
- electronic copy of the diploma supplement or a transcript of the completed courses with the calculated weighted study average (applicants from a university other than VŠVU - request the transcript from the study department of their school), in the case of a document issued abroad (except for Czech universities) also with an official translation into the Slovak language or the diploma supplement in English
- foreign applicants and applicants who have studied abroad, in the case of admission to studies, shall submit a decision on the recognition of a document of education issued abroad at the latest by the time of enrolment for studies

Step 3: Between May 31, 2024 and June 17, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., the applicant shall enter the following:
- Bidder's Portfolio:
a) For photographic records of individual works, the following is required: title, technique, year of creation, size, name of the school and name of the teacher under whose direction the work was realized (if it is a copy or was created, e.g., as part of a preparatory course, etc.) or if it is a free creation.
b) For photographic records of restoration realizations, the following is required:
1. Basic data, which will include: the title of the work, location, material, technique, dating, author, dimensions and the name of the guarantor/restorer responsible;
2. A short annotation, which will include: the restoration intention, a brief summary of the research results and a brief description of the restoration realization. In the case of collective work, the exact scope of the applicant's work. - the applicant's motivation letter, which should include a brief summary of the issues that the applicant would like to pursue during his/her Master's studies.

The admission process will be conducted on 24 June 2024 by interviewing the candidate with the Admissions Committee (to be conducted in person or online for applicants from abroad who so request). In addition to the interview, the Admissions Committee also evaluates electronically submitted portfolios with cover letters, which are used to examine the applicant's individual abilities and aptitudes to independently and creatively master the requirements for a master's degree at the University of Applied Sciences, the applicant's understanding of issues and events, and the applicant's level of thinking and knowledge in the field.
The Admissions Committee also evaluates the applicant's electronically submitted portfolios with cover letters.

Form of entrance exam
The admission procedure consists of the following parts:
- Applicant's portfolio with annotations to the works and individual projects (the portfolio is in electronic form).
- the applicant's cover letter, specified according to study programmes
- interview with the applicant
Each member of the admissions committee scores the portfolio, cover letter, and interview (ranging from 0-5 points), and a ranking of applicants is created based on the sum of the scores from each committee member. The results of the evaluation and the ranking of the applicants are submitted by the admissions committee to the Rector of the Academy of Performing Arts, who decides on the admission to study the study programme conducted by the Academy of Performing Arts. The admission decision will be given to the applicant in accordance with the law and the regulations of the VŠVU.
