Reformed Theology

Master studies

Master studies last five years and is finished by a state exam and by thesis maintaining. Successful graduates earn "Magister"  (Mgr.) degree. The JSU RTF will open one accredited study programme in the academic year 2025/2026.

Prospects of graduates

A successful graduate of the Reformed Theology program may apply for a Reformed theological or clergy position. He or she can be employed as a minister, primarily in the Reformed Christian Church in Slovakia, but also in other Reformed churches in Europe or in the world. The graduate has theoretical knowledge of biblical theology, exegesis, pastoral care, catechetics, ethics, dogmatics, philosophy, church history and other theological disciplines. He is proficient in classical (biblical) languages such as Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. His broad outlook enables him to lead ministry in church congregations or church facilities; to work with children, adults, and the elderly. The graduate's knowledge, skills and competences enable him to find employment in scientific and research institutions specialising in the humanities.

The structure of the study programme is the same as that of similar study programmes in neighbouring countries and in Europe, thus ensuring a high degree of applicability.
