Midwifery
The content of the study programme corresponds to the content of the field of study according to the description of the fields of study that are part of the system of fields of study. The profession of midwife is a regulated profession, therefore the study programme is designed in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional qualifications and Directive 2013/55/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications and Regulation (EU) No. 1024/2012 on administrative cooperation through the Internal Market Information System (IMI Regulation) and Government Regulation No 296/2010 on the competence of health professionals to practise the health profession, the method of further training of health professionals, the system of specialised fields and the system of certified occupational activities.
The study programme includes the training of midwives responsible for care in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology in the provision of care for women and children during physiological pregnancy, childbirth and six months of pregnancy, in the provision of care for gynaecological and obstetric diseases as well as in the education of sexual life and responsible family planning, represents at least three years of study and includes at least 4 600 hours of theoretical and clinical training, of which the clinical training represents at least one third of the training.

Prospects of graduates
The graduate of the study field acquires the qualification for the profession of midwife and applies as a midwife in the practice of midwifery in inpatient gynaecological-obstetric workplaces, in outpatient and community care for women and children, in management, in research, in education and training. May practise independently within the framework of current regulations.

- certified copy of the matriculation certificate
Applicants who are graduating in the current school year shall submit a certified copy of the matriculation certificate and a copy (uncertified) of the end-of-year certificate from the 4th year additionally (§ 58 (1) of Act No. 455/2012 Coll., Art. amending Act no. 131/2002 Coll. on higher education as amended) before the enrolment deadline in order to send the decision on admission to the study in time.
Without submitting a certified copy of the school-leaving certificate, the applicant will not be enrolled in the study (§ 59 (3) of Act No. 455/2012 Coll., as amended, which stipulates that a copy of the school-leaving certificate must be submitted to the university. No. 455/2005 of the Act on the Education of students, which amends Act No. 455/2005 of the Act on the Education of students. 131/2002 Coll. on higher education as amended). - copies (uncertified) of the end-of-year report cards for the entire secondary school studies (not compulsory, only in the case of the condition of selection of applicants according to the study average during studies) + writing out the grades with the calculated average in the application form (not compulsory, only in the case of the condition of selection of applicants according to the study average during studies)
- student applicants who have studied at a foreign secondary school - Decision on recognition of equivalence of the document of education (photocopy of the decision must be officially certified) at the same time also provide an uncertified copy of the foreign document of education,
- resume (signed)
- certification of medical fitness to practise - from a doctor (for medical fields only),
- in the application form on page 3, the applicant for the external form of study shall provide details of employment,
- proof of payment by deposit into an account
General information about the admission procedure:
- An applicant may apply for more than one programme of study (each application is subject to an admission fee), and only one programme of study may be indicated on any one application form.
- The College reserves the right not to open the first year of study of a study programme for which a sufficient number of applicants have not applied.
- An applicant who has paid the admissions fee and has not been admitted by decision will not be refunded the fee.
- An applicant who is not admitted on the basis of an incomplete application will also not be refunded the fee.
- The registered application form with documents remains in the records and archives of the HEI - it is not returned.
Specific conditions of admission:
Conditions of PK are identical to the general conditions of the HEI + specific conditions:
- average academic performance in the matriculation examination is up to 1.75
- completion of general upper secondary education with the baccalaureate (gymnasium)
or - completed upper secondary vocational education with a secondary school leaving certificate
- medical fitness to practise according to Decree No 364/2009 of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic (doctor's certificate to be included in the application form)
- writing a motivation letter (brief, concise, no more than one page, motivation for admission, study and pursuit of the profession, professional achievements, abilities and skills)
