The graduate has acquired a deep knowledge of structural analysis, enabling him/her to design, maintain and reconstruct safe, usable, durable and aesthetic structures. The study programme is aimed at acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge and developing the ability to apply it creatively in the exercise of the profession. Upon completion of the engineering study, the graduate knows the principles and methods of analysis of load-bearing structures of engineering and transport structures, the principles of their design, diagnostics and evaluation. When solving tasks in individual areas, he/she can use the acquired experience with application software. In addition to the above knowledge, he has knowledge related to the economics of construction, its preparation and management, as well as the impact of construction on the environment. The graduate is qualified to perform the profession of a designer, later on authorized engineer in designing and construction of engineering and transport constructions. He/she will also be employed in the preparation of investment constructions, engineering activities, construction, management, operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure (roads, motorways, urban roads, airports, railway lines and stations, bridge structures and underground structures). He/she may take up positions in design offices, investor units, construction firms, government and public administration.

By completing the study programme and obtaining a second degree, the graduate will be qualified to practice a regulated profession. After completing appropriate practice and examinations before the SKSI Examination Board, he/she may obtain the authorization to exercise the profession of "Authorized Civil Engineer". The content and structure of the study programme corresponds to the structure and scope of subjects required by SKSI for the profession of chartered civil engineer in several categories (e.g. in category I3 - structural engineer for buildings, namely for buildings, civil engineering structures and bridges and geotechnics).

Transport Infrastructure Planning Specialisation:

The graduate can analyse, design and operate civil engineering structures and carry out research with a reasonable degree of independence and creativity. He/she has acquired the necessary theoretical knowledge in the analysis and design of transport structures to enable him/her to design safe and reliable structures and sustainable land-use systems. Acquire the necessary knowledge to plan and evaluate transport infrastructure, for the stability and ecological carrying capacity of the territory. Acquire the ability to identify and evaluate the development potentials of territorial systems, at basic and superordinate levels, to plan and design transport infrastructure and its individual components, and to manage the implementation of planned activities to ensure sustainable development in all components. He is prepared to handle organizationally and professionally pre-project, project, managerial and scientific-research expert activities in the field of transport infrastructure, meets the prerequisites for advancement to doctoral studies. Acquire the ability to work with cutting-edge technologies and software tools. After appropriate practice, he/she will acquire the skills to manage, provide and coordinate complex transport infrastructure management. He/she will be employed in the planning, design and management of transport infrastructure as a planner and manager, in the preparation of large-scale capital works, in engineering and in administration at both state and municipal level. It is applied in design offices, investor units, state and public administration. After obtaining the necessary experience, he is employed in management positions, in the business sphere, in organisations dealing with combined transport, in research and also in education at secondary and higher education institutions. He or she may run a business under a trade licence. The content and structure of the study programme corresponds to the structure and scope of the subjects required by the SKSI for the qualification to practise the profession of chartered civil engineer. By completing the study programme and achieving a second-level university degree, the graduate obtains a sufficient basis on which, after completing an appropriate work experience, he/she can apply for the relevant licence.
