Elektroenergetika
Doctoral study programme Electrical Power Engineering prepares graduates who are characterized by mastering selected specific parts of mathematics, applied informatics, physics and theoretical electrical engineering, related to the focus of the thesis topic, followed by specific professional disciplines in the field of theoretical electrical power engineering, production, distribution and use of electricity, high voltage technology, light or electrothermal technology, as well as in the ecological and economic aspects of electrical power engineering and its management. The specialised knowledge base of the professional profile consists of several alternatives, such as environmental impact of electrical power installations, new directions in the design and planning of electrical substations, the impact of the electrical part of the power plant on the safety and reliability of the power plant, new directions in EC control using artificial intelligence elements, discharge activity in HV insulation systems, vvn and zvn equipment and its measurement, interior and exterior lighting and its modelling, mathematical and physical modelling of the development and operation of the electricity system, marketing and management in electricity trading, rationalisation of electricity consumption and other forms of energy. The graduate will acquire the following abilities and skills: the ability to analyse the economic and ecological context of technical works and processes in the field of electric power engineering, the ability to scientifically research and bring their own solutions to theory and electric power practice, the presentation of results and the ability to take professional and scientific positions.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates will be able to find their own solutions to problems in research, development, design and manufacture of electrical equipment within conventional and nuclear energy, renewable energy, intelligent systems in the energy sector, be able to manage work teams, manage projects independently, take responsibility for problem solving, work creatively in a wider context using knowledge of technical, economic and business processes and practices to help improve an organisation's performance and achieve its objectives.
