Biophysics
Third degree graduate of the university's Biophysics department:
- Masters the scientific methods of biophysics, which he/she is able to creatively apply to solve a wide range of problems in the field of life sciences (physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology and theoretical medicine, theoretical biology and medicine, immunology, bioinformatics).
- Masters the methods and practical application of the latest interdisciplinary sciences in biology, nanotechnology and bioinformatics technologies.
- The graduate of the field scientifically researches and brings original (original, own, creative) solutions to the problems raised and has actively mastered the methodology of scientific work, scientific formulation of the problem, publishing the results of scientific research and their presentation at professional events.
- Masters the principles of working in interdisciplinary teams, the principles of creating scientific projects and the principles of international scientific cooperation, enabling participation in scientific programmes within the European Research Area, as well as conditioning further development of the field of study and cooperation with practice.
- In the course of their studies, they will also learn the social, ethical, environmental and legal aspects of scientific work.
In addition to the above mentioned knowledge and skills, the graduate of the third degree of the university studies in the field of biophysics will acquire the following specialized knowledge, skills and abilities:
- be able to provide independent creative solutions to complex problems in the field:
- molecular and cellular biophysics,
- molecular spectroscopy and molecular physics,
- computer modelling of biological and other complex systems,
- quantum chemistry and chemical physics,
in selected areas of photophysics, photochemistry, photobiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, nanotechnology and bioinformatics

successful completion of the entrance exam
Acceptance interviews will require knowledge, depending on the chosen topic of the dissertation, in the range of the state final examinations in the fields of study of biophysics, biochemistry or molecular biology. In the case of a medical graduate, general knowledge and orientation in biochemistry and molecular biology will be required.
