Aplikovaná ekonómia

A graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme in Applied Economics works in professional positions in the private and public sectors that require economic knowledge, analytical skills, as well as independent conceptual economic thinking. They can critically analyse economic phenomena and processes, and synthesise knowledge of economics, economics and economic analysis. The student is able to identify and solve complex social problems and design creative practical solutions based on economic principles. He/she has a high level of economic and financial literacy, very good information literacy and is able to communicate in a cultured manner in a foreign language. The graduate has a broad knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, knowledge of other economic disciplines such as finance and business economics, and a practical knowledge of statistics, econometrics and economic analysis. They have practical skills in analytical techniques and statistical methods applied to contemporary economic problems. These skills include the acquisition and processing of quantitative and qualitative data, and their statistical and econometric analysis using modern software. They have the ability to communicate and present the results of analyses and proposed solutions effectively, to lead work teams as well as to solve problems independently, and to be accountable for the results of their work and the results of the team. The graduate will find employment in various specialist positions in economic and analytical sections of companies, in public and state administration, ministries, consulting and advisory firms in Slovakia and abroad. Graduates of this study programme can continue their studies at the 2nd level in the Applied Economics programme or in other economically oriented study programmes.

The study programme is also conducted in English, as its ambition is to develop international cooperation with partner universities towards double degrees. It aims to provide an attractive education for international students, to promote the internationalisation of the NHF EUBA, to involve international professors in teaching and to provide an attractive education in the CEE region.

Conditions for international students

Foreign applicants have the same conditions as applicants from the Slovak Republic, they must graduate from the Institute of Language and Vocational Training of Comenius University in Bratislava (except for applicants from the Czech Republic. Applicants who have been issued a certificate of a Slovak living abroad according to a special regulation are considered citizens of the Slovak Republic.

EU in Bratislava will only accept an electronic application form that has been created in the Academic Information System (AIS2) of EU in Bratislava. The UE in Bratislava will not accept electronic applications created on the HEI portal (www.portalvs.sk) into its system.

The admission fee can only be paid by bank transfer (not by postal order). A bank transfer order is not proof of payment of the admission fee. A bank account statement or a payment receipt or a payment confirmation from online banking may be accepted as proof of payment.
