The main objective

The conference aims develop the participants knowledge on the topic and spark new ideas through interaction with both lecturers, the food producing industry and other students alike.

With some of the regions leading experts from both academia and the food industry, participants will have the chance to learn and develop their skills together with students from all over the Baltic Sea Region. The conference also includes study visits at local food producers, workshops and cultural events, all in the beautiful agricultural landscapes of western Slovakia.

Programme

During our 4 days conference, participants will get a unique experience to intensively study sustainable food systems and how they are likely to be effected from a warming climate.

Open for: Undergraduate and graduate students studying at BUP member universities

Number of participants: 80 students

Costs: The conference is free of charge and includes food, accomodation and program.

Application deadline: Application is temporarily closed, but will open again in September 2020.

Application process

The applications to the students conference open on the 13 of February 2020 and closes the on the 20th of Mars at 23.59 (CET). Each country in the Baltic Sea Region will get a certain quota based on the number of member universities in that country, however each country will have a minimum of 5 seats to the conference. Each national BUP centre is in charge of selecting the participants based on a set of guidelines.

Participants will get a result of their applications at latest the 3 of April 2020. Those who are not accepted will be automatically put on a waiting list.
